After sinking in 1998 of the SNS 206 "President Robin", SNS 204 "Patron Ernest Canterelle II" was made available to station of Cancale in early July 1999. She was returned in 2001 and has not been reassigned. Two years later, the station took possession of its new boat: SNS 434 "Ile des Landes."

The SNS 204 was previously assigned to the station of station de St Valery en Caux.

Built in Dubernet shipyard, SNS 204 had a wooden hull and was for the first time in service in 1977.
